VTO - AR for Shoes
Virtual Try-On AR for Shoes revolutionized the shopping experience on the Amazon mobile app by bringing immersive AR technology to everyday customers. For the first time, shoppers could virtually try on shoes before purchasing, positioning Amazon alongside luxury fashion houses that had pioneered AR capabilities, and making that experience accessible at massive scale.
This was my second S-team goal (CEO-level goal) at Amazon and my first collaboration with a 3D Design Technologist. Built entirely during the COVID-19 pandemic while working remotely, the project pushed our team to find new ways to collaborate, prototype, and test without ever being in the same room.
As design lead, I owned the end-to-end virtual try-on flow, leveraging Amazon's existing shopping patterns while introducing innovative AR interactions that felt intuitive and delightful. The launch achieved a 5.7/7 CSAT score exceeding our 5.5 goal, with 85% of users expressing intent to use it while shopping and 96% finding it fun and easy to use. The product was featured in TechCrunch, Vogue, and Fast Company, cementing Amazon Fashion's position as a trailblazer in the industry.
